Recent fabrications and applications of cardiac patch in myocardial infarction treatment

Myocardial infarction caused by coronary artery obstruction results in the loss of heart muscle, which is subsequently replaced scar tissue with limited therapeutic options. Cardiac patch based therapy has emerged as a promising strategy for treatment severe myocardial infarction. They are designed to be attached surface heart, that is, they meant “patch” injured thus restoring damaged or failing myocardium locally through mechanical and regeneration support. The engineered three-dimension cardiac composed biomaterial scaffolds with/without cells inducible factors, typically manufactured decellularize extracellular matrix, electrospinning, printing, hydrogels, stacking cell sheets. In this review, we outline latest advances construction methods beneficial effects patches used animal clinical cardiovascular diseases, especially We discuss souring cell-based patches, types biomolecules cell-free their engineering methods. addition, method implanting also described. Finally, briefly outlook future challenges probable solutions area.
